Program Structure and Levels
LEVEL 1
Advanced Letter Sounds & Blending
Students review all letter sounds, including digraphs (sh, ch, th) and trigraphs (tch, igh), and practice blending them to read more challenging words.
LEVEL 2
Syllable Types & Multi-Syllable Decoding
Students learn about “r-controlled” vowels, open and closed syllables, and how to break longer words into syllables for easier reading (e.g., “garden,” “hedgehog,” “cupcake”).
LEVEL 3
Vowel Teams & Complex Words
Students practice common vowel teams (ay, ai, ee, ea) and learn strategies for reading two-syllable and longer words with confidence.
LEVEL 4
Diphthongs, Prefixes, and Suffixes
Students tackle diphthongs (au, aw, oi) and additional vowel teams, while also learning to decode words with common prefixes and suffixes (e.g., “joyous,” “option,” “division”).
