Help Your Child Thrive

Personalized Tutoring That Meets Kids Where They Are

Is your child struggling with reading, writing, math, or focus in school? You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. At The Literacy Corner, we help children of all learning styles, from early readers to high schoolers, get the support they need to feel confident and succeed.

A Different Kind of Tutoring—For Every Kind of Learner

We know not every brain works the same. That’s why we take the time to really get to know your child—their strengths, struggles, and what makes them light up. Our tutors are patient, creative, and trained in the proven Orton Gillingham approach. Whether your child has ADHD, dyslexia, autism, or just needs a little extra help, we’ll meet them where they are and move at their pace.

You can choose one-on-one sessions online (across Canada), in-person (in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland), or a mix of both. We work around your schedule, not the other way around.

  • Do you work with children who are on the autism spectrum (ASD)?
Yes. Many of our students are on the autism spectrum, and our tutors have experience supporting a wide range of learning styles and needs. We always tailor our approach to fit each child’s strengths and comfort level.
  • What if my child doesn’t have a diagnosis?
That’s totally fine. We help any child who’s struggling, whether or not there’s a formal diagnosis.
  • Is there any government funding or financial support available for tutoring?
We understand that tutoring can be a big investment for families. In some cases, there are government programs, grants, or tax credits in British Columbia (and other provinces) that can help with costs—especially for children with special learning needs. We’re happy to point you toward available resources and answer any questions you have about funding options.
  • Is your online tutoring really effective?
Definitely. Most of our families now choose online because the kids love the interactive platform, and most parents love the convenience.
  • Do you help with homework?
Absolutely. We support reading, writing, math, and more—homework included.
  • What ages do you work with?
We support students ages 4 to 17, from Pre-K through high school.
